It’s Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel Dracula which is remembered as the quintessential vampire novel and provided the basis of the modern vampire legend. And the same stories have been told over and over again.
Yeah. The stories are kind of, sort of intriguing… After a while, it seems as if you’re reading the same books and stories over and over again…

The undead vampires in the earliest myths often visited loved ones and caused mischief or deaths in the neighborhoods they inhabited when they were alive.
Back then, it was believed that vampires were revenants of evil beings, suicide victims, or witches, but they could also be created by a malevolent spirit possessing a corpse or by being bitten by a vampire.
In Slavic and Chinese traditions, any corpse which was jumped over by an animal, particularly a dog or a cat was feared to become one of the undead
A body with a wound which had not been treated with bowling water was also at risk of becoming the walking undead.

Silence. Deep breath and Travis almost tasted her snatch. Another deep breath, but not from Travis. Devin, at the opposite end of the dining table, smelled it too. Then, Travis realized Kamilah had shut up and was waiting for him to respond.
Are Vampires Real?
Only a few years ago, Slobodan Milosevic’s, widely known as the Butcher of the Balkans for his part in the killing of tens of thousands of people in Bosnia, Croatia, and Kosovo in the 1990s died while he was facing an international war crimes tribunal. A self-proclaimed vampire hunter stole his corpse and performed ancient rituals to ensure Milosevic did not return as a vampire.
A legend of one of the Hindu Gods persists to this day. Kali loved blood so much, according to nineteenth century British explorer and author, Sir Richard Burton, when she was unable to find victims “to satisfy her thirst for the serious juice, (she) cut her own throat that the blood might spout into her mouth.”
